Bohemian Glam Wedding at Ace Prop House Miami | Steph & Bobby
I almost don’t even feel ready to share this one. I’ve been keeping it to myself since January, and just taking each and every photo in and appreciating Steph and Bobby more and more. I still cannot believe Alex & I were chosen to shoot their wedding day. I feel like we didn’t deserve to! But we’re so incredibly grateful that we had this opportunity.
Alex & I rolled up to the venue a couple hours early, just so we could get a scope of what Ace Prop House really felt like. The scene completely changes every week because some days it’s used for special events and weddings, but other days it functions as a photography studio or film set. There’s a whole giant storage room filled to the brim with props, and gosh - they literally have it all. Vintage scooters, mannequin parts, disco balls, stacks on stacks of furniture, gramophones, glitter horses, you name it. This is my DREAM wedding venue and I love how Adriana of The Creatives Loft styled it alongside Stephanie’s vision.
Okay but enough about details, let’s talk about Steph & Bobby. These guys have been in love for a literal decade and IT SHOWS. They made it through ups and downs, long distance dating, high school, college, and moving to NYC (where we shot their insane engagement session). They had such an emotionally charged day and I really appreciate just how much time we had with them. After getting ready, we witnessed the cutest first look ever (!!!) and had plenty of portrait time around Ace. Then came an utterly adorable and tear-filled ceremony, where Steph and Bobby would read their vows to each other (for the first time) and say the exact same sentence toward the end & promptly burst into happy tears together. It was insanely sweet to see them fall in love with each other even more right before our eyes.
Once was all said and done, all of the family members huddled together in the back room. I almost can still hear the scribbling of the pen as the marriage license received its final signature. The room was filled with the happy murmur of family members talking excitedly while the fabrics of their clothing brush together when they hug one another. Hands were clasped tight, hearts were wide open. Allowing time for these moments to happen throughout a wedding day is hugely important to us - and I’m so pleased that these two did just that. There was enough time for them to cry happy tears, eat their dinner, hug and talk to every friend, dance like crazy, and be completely themselves. I’d say that’s what a wedding day should be all about, don’t you?
